Groups
The distinctive feature of the program is that it does not
ignore the structure of folders where you store your audiofiles
on the disk. If you place something in the Ballads&0146;
folder, you may rest assured that files found in that folder
will be displayed within that folder and will not be lost anywhere
else.
This method of displaying the list of files allows you to save a
lot of time which other programs spend on reading all tags in the
collection, even if you want to add only a couple of songs.
This method has one disadvantage: if you place files of different
artists and from different albums in one folder, it will be
difficult to find the needed song.
For that case there is a mode of grouping. To turn it on,
you should untick Forbid grouping.
Now the program will read the tags of the files in the selected
folder and group them by the fields you specify. Grouping will
not be performed in the following cases:
- unless the number of files in the folder exceeds the value
specified in the field Do not group files in the folder
if there are less than. Suppose you specified 10 files
in this field. In that case grouping will be performed only
in those folder where the number of files is more or equal
to ten.
- if there can be only one group formed by the field you
specified. For example, you specified grouping by the artist,
and there are songs by only one artists in the folder.
You can select the fields for the files to be grouped by using the
<< and >> buttons. The sequence of fields
can be specified using the buttons with arrows Up and Down
on them.
