Automatic playback at Winamp launch

Without the plug-in Winamp is started and... remains silent. That does not allow you to use it in the ‘Autostart’ folder to make your computer sing. Besides, if you restart your computer and temporarily stop Wimamp, it will start playing from the beginning of the list.

To solve this problem there are three modes for the automatic playback:

  • From the beginning of the list — whenever started, the plug-in will automatically start playing from the first song in the list.
  • From the beginning of the song — the plug-in starts playing from the beginning of the song that was playing when Winamp was closed.
  • From the previous position in the song — the plug-in starts playing right from the position where you left off.

Pre-listen mode

If a large amount of music gets onto your computer at a time, listening to all of it will be a fairly difficult task. In the pre-listen mode you can skip parts of a song to get acquainted with the large amounts of music quickly.

When this mode is turned on with the help of the Pre-listen mode option or with the hot key, the plug-in plays the song from the beginning for the specified number of seconds and then skips the specified number of seconds in that song. After that it again plays a part of the song and skips the following part. An so on until the song ends.

The number of seconds for the plug-in to play or to skip can be specified in the fields Play for and then skip respectively.

The ‘Play!’ button adds the current album if nothing has been added

This option influences the functioning of the ‘Play!’ button in the main window of the plug-in.

If it is off, the ‘Play!’ button starts playing only if you have added some files to the playlist using the plug-in. In case you want to add a single album, you will have to add it first and only then press the ‘Play!’ button (you will need two mouse clicks to do that).

When the option is on and you have not added anything to the playlist, pressing the ‘Start’ button will automatically add the selected album and the plug-in will start playing (thus, sparing one mouse click).

Count the song as played, if it has been playing for more than...

In this parameter you specify the percentage of the song duration for which it should have been playing to get into the statistics. For example, if the duration of the song is five minutes, and this the value of this parameter is 80%, the song should have been playing for at least four minutes to get into the statistics. If you skip more than one minute of this song, it will not be reflected in the statistics.

Switch off the screensaver if Winamp is launched

Some screensavers make their own sounds, when they are launched. This fact makes the following situation quite possible: suppose you decide to listen to your favorite group's favorite album, put it on and make yourself comfortable on the sofa. A few minutes later your favorite group becomes accompanied by the sounds of a working aquarium, which means that the screensaver has started working... To avoid such a situation, turn the option Switch off the screensaver if Winamp is launched on and the screensaver will never interfere with you listening to your favorite music.

Add TrayList commands to the Winamp menu

When it is on, two commands are added to the Winamp menu:

  • Traylist — opens the main window of the plug-in;
  • Traylist Settings... — opens the settings of the plug-in.

This feature will be of use to those who have turned off displaying the plug-in icon in the tray.

Show the TrayList icon in the tray

When this option is on, the plug-in icon is displayed in the tray. Left-clicking the icon will open the main window of the plug-in. Right-clicking it may function differently depending on the settings: it may open the main window of the plug-in, the settings window or the Winamp window.

Language

You can select the necessary language for the user's interface and the help system. The selected language remains even if you press the ‘Cancel’ button.
